Twittering Egypt/ The Power Of The Cell Phone

The world is finally seeing the power of the internet and the new phone technologies in the face of enormous protest revolutions in repressed countries around the world bringing dictators tumbling down by cell phone.  The human desire to have a phone, and internet contact, is greater than the fear of a repressive government or thugs who want isolate and beat the freedom out of a person’s spirit.  The nature of the phone and the internet is to network and join people and information and reduce the size of the global society.  In a flash, a phone video, a tweet, or  an email can report news to anywhere in the world.  The cost to shut down the phone and computer technology in a country is astronomical, even if it could be done.  As the technology ties the people together, they are not alone, they become a mass, and they can spread the information they see without restraint.

The phone and computer technology, that all world governments have welcomed so they can join in the working of the modern world  have also become the Trojan horse to the repressive governments of the world.   Democracy, for now, is built into the phone because the forces of repressive government evil have not yet figured out how to harness these tools to assist them in their desire to enslave world populations.  They haven’t yet, but they will eventually, and when they do, the very phones and computers that allow the freedom of these revolutions today will become the instruments of repressing and destroying them tomorrow.

As sales goats and sales persons we have long known the power of the phone to reach out and touch someone, to make a sale, and to be the basic tool of our livelihood.  The freedom of sales, the miracle of giving yourself a raise,  is in the the power of the response mechanism in people that compels them to speak to someone who calls them on the phone.  When you see the power of a cell phone to bring repressive governments that have stood for sixty years to their knees, doesn’t it encourage you to want to make a call to a potential customer to try and make a sale and improve your income?  Can you see the power of the cell phone in your hand to change your life for the better?  Learn a lesson from the history happening around us and get busy dialing for dollars in whatever type sales you are working in.  If you are a mortgage Loan Officer call one realtor from the newspaper adds each day and have a conversation where you identify yourself and what benefits you can provide for the realtor and their customers.

Remember, even Jack Nicholson checks out his cell phone when it rings to see whose calling.  So does Brad Pitt and so does Angelia Jolie.  So does Hosni Mubarak and so does Barack Obama.  We all do!   Because we are all hooked!   How can you put this power to work for yourself?
